The Power franchise is set to grow once again with the launch of a brand-new spinoff series.
Original Power stars Joseph Sikora and Michael Rainey Jr. are officially returning as Tommy Egan and Tariq St. Patrick in the upcoming Starz series, Power: Legacy, according to Variety. The network has already ordered eight episodes for the show’s first season.
Both actors have remained key figures within the Power universe through previous spinoffs. Rainey led Power Book II: Ghost for four seasons, while Sikora headlined Power Book IV: Force. The duo recently reunited during the Season 3 finale of Force in January, a crossover appearance that now appears to have hinted at their next chapter together.
Sikora and Rainey also confirmed the exciting news themselves through a joint Instagram post, officially announcing their return to the ever-expanding Power universe.
“Power never dies, and this chapter is our biggest yet,” executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson said in a statement. “Fans have been waiting to see Tariq and Tommy together, and now they’re taking over New York City. Bringing Joseph and Michael back together is special—they’ve turned these characters into true icons of the ‘Power’ universe.”
Power: Legacy will become the fifth spinoff in the franchise’s growing lineup. Another upcoming series, Power: Origins, is also in development and will explore the early lives of James “Ghost” St. Patrick and Tommy Egan.
Creed III actor Spence Moore II has been cast as the younger Ghost, taking over the role made famous by Omari Hardwick, while newcomer Charlie Mann will portray a younger Tommy Egan. The prequel is expected to give fans a deeper look into how the two characters rose to prominence long before the events of the original Power series.
