During an appearance on Craig Melvin’s Glass Half Full podcast, Paul explained that their relationship grew organically after years of knowing one another through mutual friends.
According to Paul, there was no grand introduction or celebrity matchmaking involved. Instead, the pair first met through a mutual acquaintance and spent years moving within the same social circles before their relationship turned romantic. “I’d known her for some time,” Paul said, adding that he has never treated relationships with high-profile individuals differently because of their fame.

Paul said their connection was initially “just cordial, really just cordial,” before jokingly revealing that things eventually changed. “Until it became not so cordial,” he laughed, adding, “until I became a person of interest. A suspect.”
