Things have been especially busy for Chris Brown lately, with both highs and lows making headlines. On the positive side, he recently released BROWN (The Chocolate Edition) and was honored with an honorary doctorate from Christian Harvest University. At the same time, however, he’s been dealing with legal disputes, home intruder incidents, and ongoing tensions with people who have publicly criticized him.
His latest clash involves Roxy Reyes, a close friend of Diamond Brown, the mother of Chris Brown’s daughter, Lovely. After Reyes posted a selfie on Instagram, Chris Brown reportedly dropped into the comments and left a whale emoji. According to Reyes, though, that interaction was only part of a larger issue.
In response, she publicly warned the singer against contacting her again and threatened legal action if the alleged communication continued.
“@chrisbrown official Do not contact me again. You’re in my DMs and now my comments. Further contact will be treated as harassment, and I will file a restraining order and pursue legal action,” she wrote in reply to his comment.
As expected, the exchange quickly sparked debate online. While some social media users questioned the idea of threatening legal action over a single emoji, others pointed out that Reyes’ response suggested there may have been more going on behind the scenes.
A number of Chris Brown supporters also came to his defense.
“Mind you, she called Chris Brown mom a whale & been harassing his baby mom, but internet people want him to always ignore everything,” one fan wrote on X.
The latest drama comes amid ongoing tensions between Chris Brown and Diamond Brown. Just a few months ago, Diamond accused the singer of harassing her and attempting to interfere with her current relationship. The former couple is currently involved in a custody dispute over their daughter, Lovely Brown.
Earlier this month, Chris Brown opposed Diamond’s request for sole legal and physical custody. The legal battle followed a separate social media feud between Diamond and Jada Wallace, the mother of Chris Brown’s youngest child, which further fueled public interest in the situation.
