While another major Dune installment is on the way, it’s far from the only big project lined up for Timothée Chalamet.
The three-time Oscar nominee, who is likely still celebrating the New York Knicks’ long-awaited championship triumph, has now followed through on the movie announcement he teased over the weekend with details about an exciting new film.

Called Not Alone, the upcoming animated film comes from Illumination, the studio behind this year’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Minions & Monsters.
As always, here’s a breakdown of everything fans should know about the newest project joining Timothée Chalamet’s growing list of major film roles.
Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez Star in Illumination’s Not Alone
On Monday (June 22), Illumination and Universal unveiled the first poster for Not Alone, an animated feature starring Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez. Although the initial announcement offered few story details, the artwork strongly hinted at a plot involving extraterrestrial adventures.
Those suspicions were soon confirmed. According to Variety’s Ellise Shafer, Chalamet will lend his voice to Joe, an introverted rocket mechanic. Gomez, meanwhile, is set to voice Fran, a brilliant astro-botanist developing a rocket powered by plants.
According to the official synopsis referenced in the report, Not Alone leans heavily into romantic comedy territory. As Joe and Fran team up to work on the rocket project, their partnership sparks a series of unexpected romantic developments.
Adding to the chaos, three aliens hoping to hitch a ride on the rocket end up seeking temporary refuge at Joe’s home, setting the stage for plenty of intergalactic mischief and comedy.
Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez’s Not Alone Arrives Next Year
Directed by Eric Guillon, Claire Dodgson, and Jonathan Del Val, Not Alone is scheduled to land in theaters on April 16 of next year.
Who Else Is Joining the Cast?
In Monday’s (June 22) announcement on Instagram, Illumination and Universal also tagged Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso), Rob Brydon (The Trip), Diane Morgan (Mandy), and Jamie Demetriou (The Moment), revealing more of the film’s voice cast.
Goldstein is set to voice a law enforcement officer who is tracking down the trio of aliens featured in the story. The alien characters themselves will be voiced by Brydon, Morgan, and Demetriou.
This story may be updated as more information becomes available.
