Druski reached back into his comedy vault to revive one of his most iconic skits during the opening of the 2026 BET Awards.
After T.I. kicked off the ceremony with a career-spanning medley, the comedian and internet personality descended onto the stage in a harness to recreate his viral megachurch skit. Originally shared in January, the sketch humorously mocked exploitative pastors who put on theatrical performances for vulnerable churchgoers.
Making his debut as host of the BET Awards, Druski brought many of the original skit’s signature moments into his opening monologue, this time backed by a gospel choir that playfully roasted several celebrities in attendance. After giving shoutouts to Latto and Teyana Taylor—joking that they had been “impregnated with the word of God”—he also referenced Tyler Perry’s reported $1.4 billion net worth and Stevie Wonder’s estimated $200 million fortune, with the latter’s figure humorously displayed in braille.
Ray J also became the target of one of the night’s jokes after Druski claimed he had sent a “pending” $50,000 donation. The comedian and gospel choir then poked fun at the contribution, saying it was held up due to “insufficient funds.”
Druski’s original megachurch skit sparked mixed reactions within the Christian community, including from Pastor Michael Todd, who denied exploiting members of his congregation financially and described the video as an “attack on people’s lives of distraction.”
In the months since, Druski has continued pushing the envelope with his comedy, releasing skits that take aim at topics such as Black British actors portraying ADOS Black Americans and white conservatives.
