After days of speculation, Meghan Markle is reportedly set to travel to the United Kingdom. The Duchess of Sussex is expected to arrive in Britain later this week with Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex, although neither she nor the children are anticipated to appear at any public engagements with Prince Harry.
The latest development marks a significant shift from earlier reports, when Harry traveled to London alone after security concerns reportedly led Meghan and the children to remain behind. At the time, Harry’s representatives emphasized that the main issue was not the family’s accommodations but whether sufficient security arrangements would be be in place for the duration of the trip.
While Harry carried on with engagements related to the countdown to the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, there was still the possibility that Meghan and the children could join him elsewhere in England if the necessary arrangements were put in place.
That now appears to be the plan. According to People, Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet are expected to arrive later during the trip, marking the family’s first visit to England together since 2022.
A spokesperson for the Sussexes declined to comment on the report.
Although the family’s full itinerary has not been disclosed, attention has turned to Althorp House, the Spencer family’s historic estate in Northamptonshire. The sprawling 13,000-acre property has belonged to Princess Diana’s family for more than 500 years and is currently owned by her brother, Charles Spencer.
Princess Diana is buried on a private island within the estate’s lake, and the mansion—renowned for its impressive art collection and historic library—is usually open to the public during the summer. However, Althorp is scheduled to be closed on July 10 and 11, prompting speculation that it could be hosting a private visit for the family.
The reported trip also marks a notable change from Harry’s remarks just a year ago. After losing his legal appeal over government-funded security, he said, “I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point.”
In recent weeks, the Sussexes have been vacationing across Europe while continuing work on their respective projects. Meghan has been expanding her lifestyle brand, As ever, with new product releases, while Harry has remained focused on preparations for the 2027 Invictus Games.
