Kanye West Scores Two New Diamond Certifications Alongside Several Other Major Career Milestones

Kanye West has added another major achievement to his career, earning more than five dozen new Gold and Platinum certifications from the RIAA, including a pair of Diamond honors.

On Friday (July 17), Ye received 68 new certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America, recognizing several songs and albums from throughout his catalog with Gold (500,000 units), Platinum (1,000,000 units), Multi-Platinum, and Diamond (10,000,000 units) status.

Among the newly recognized tracks were Late Registration hit “Gold Digger” and 808s & Heartbreak lead single “Heartless,” both of which surpassed the 10 million-unit mark since the RIAA’s previous count.

“Gold Digger” climbed from eight million units in 2020 to 13 million on Friday, while “Heartless” increased from its 2020 total of seven million to 14 million.

Several Kanye West albums also earned new certifications, including The College Dropout (six million), Graduation (eight million), My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (five million), 808s & Heartbreak (four million), Yeezus (three million), and Jesus Is King (Platinum).

The newly certified songs include “N****s in Paris” (12 million), “All of the Lights” (eight million), “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” (seven million), “Drunk and Hot Girls” (Gold), “Hey Mama” (Platinum), and “Runaway” (six million).

Kanye West’s latest album Bully has yet to receive an RIAA certification, though that could change soon following the recent release of its deluxe edition. The expanded project features two new tracks, “OK” featuring Don Toliver and “MISSION CONTROL,” while the previously released songs received updated mixes.

One person likely celebrating the news is Dame Dash, who recently shared his opinion that West is far ahead of Jay-Z.

During a new interview with The Art of Dialogue, Dash spoke about Jay-Z’s recent Yankee Stadium performances.

“When this dude does anything, it’s so contrived,” he said while discussing a viral moment showing Beyoncé cutting her husband’s hair in the stands during the first night of the New York shows. “It just seems like a script.”

After noting that he only saw the promotional clip covered by “urban press,” Dash went on to say that his former Roc-A-Fella Records partner is not “in the same league” as Kanye West. He described Jay-Z as a “big fish in a very little pond” while praising Ye as a “real rockstar.”
