Lil Wayne Looks To Disprove Airplane Assault Allegations Through Pilot’s Testimony
Lil Wayne may now be an official Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree, but that hasn’t stopped his ongoing legal battles. According to TMZ, the rapper has made a major move in an effort to resolve a 2022 lawsuit filed by his former assistant over an alleged private jet assault.
According to court documents reportedly obtained by the outlet, the New Orleans rapper claims the pilot of the private jet recently gave a deposition that could challenge former assistant Andrew Williams’ accusations. Williams alleged that Wayne punched him while he was attempting to break up an argument between the rapper and the pilot.
Wayne’s legal team also claimed that Williams went to a local urgent care facility after the alleged incident and showed “no swelling” or serious injuries. The claim reportedly contradicts Williams’ accusations that he suffered significant harm from the confrontation.
The rapper’s attorneys further alleged that Williams “did not bother to take” the ibuprofen prescribed by medical staff and that multiple healthcare providers later informed him that he did not have any injuries.
Based on these claims, Lil Wayne is seeking to depose Andrew Williams again to question him about the new information. The rapper has maintained that he acted in self-defense, while Williams is suing him for battery, negligence, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
The court’s next decision will determine the direction of the long-running legal dispute.
Lil Wayne has faced legal issues in the past, including much more serious criminal matters. Recently, he opened up about his time at Rikers Island after being charged with a weapons offense.
