Rihanna made a trip back to her native Barbados, bringing along her three children to show them the neighborhood where she grew up.
On Tuesday (August 11), the global superstar shared photos on X of her children with ASAP Rocky—RZA, 4, Riot Rose, 3, and 11-month-old Rocki Irish—standing on Rihanna Drive, the street in the St. Michael parish where she spent her childhood.
“One minute I feel like that kid from Westbury…the next minute I’m bringing my own kids back to ‘Rihanna Drive,'” the nine-time Grammy winner wrote on X. “Trippy how life works! And the Glory STILL and WILL ALWAYS belong to the Almighty Creator!!!”
The street was previously called Westbury New Road, where Rihanna grew up in a yellow-and-green home on the outskirts of Bridgetown. In November 2017, the Barbadian government officially renamed it Rihanna Drive during a ceremony led by then-Prime Minister Freundel Stuart.
Rihanna’s stop at Rihanna Drive came after she attended this year’s Crop Over festival alongside Rocky. On August 3, she joined the Grand Kadooment Day parade, the grand finale of the month-long celebration, wearing a turquoise costume adorned with gemstones, peacock feathers, and crystals, topped off with an elaborate headpiece designed by Barbadian designer Lauren Austin. Her previous appearance at the annual festival was in 2024.
The family getaway may have offered Rihanna a brief pause from the recording studio, as she continues working on her long-awaited comeback album. Rocky recently shared the update during an appearance on The Jason Lee Show.
