Since 2018, Lil Pump’s career has struggled to recapture its earlier momentum. The success of “Gucci Gang” and his debut mixtape hasn’t been enough to keep him in the spotlight. After his appearance alongside Donald Trump, where he was famously called “Lil Pimp,” some fans felt the writing was on the wall.
In an effort to stay in the conversation, Pump has increasingly attached himself to major stories making headlines. Right now, that story is Lil Durk’s murder-for-hire trial. The rapper is facing life in prison while accused of orchestrating a hit targeting Quando Rondo, an attack that resulted in the death of Lul Pab.
Durk has also taken shots at Lil Pump on tracks including “All These N****s” and “Hanging With Wolves,” making it clear that he doesn’t appear to take Pump’s music seriously.
With Durk currently unable to respond, Pump has seemingly chosen the moment to fire back. Through a series of posts and videos, he accused Durk of being a snitch and continued with other insults.
DJ Akademiks reacted to Lil Pump’s diss during his stream, and, as expected, he seemed stunned by how bold Pump was being. He also admitted that he had no idea the two rappers were even beefing.
It’s hard to blame Ak for that. Honestly, this is one of those rap feuds that many people probably forgot about, considering it never really went beyond a few bars here and there.
The more serious issue, though, is the ongoing trial. Lil Durk is facing life in prison if convicted. The trial is expected to wrap up sometime this week, meaning a verdict could arrive within days.
