Sandra Bullock has made it clear that she believes UFOs are real after reportedly seeing several while visiting St. Martin Beach years ago.
While promoting her new movie, Practical Magic 2, the actor appeared on a new episode of Not Gonna Lie With Kylie Kelce, where she shared her belief that “there are alien ships flying around the sky.”
“I’ve seen them and I’m so happy that the government has finally corroborated my story so I no longer feel like an insane person,” Bullock said, referring to declassified government files.
Bullock said the experience took place during a film shoot at St. Martin Beach in the mid-1990s, possibly while working on the 1997 movie Speed Control 2: Cruise Control.
“I see this little point of light,” she recalled, “and I said, ‘Oh, satellite, you know, it’s moving across the sky. And I’m watching it and then there’s another little light that comes from a different direction to meet that light sort of there and I went, ‘Hmm, two satellites.'”
The two “satellites” eventually became five, appearing from different directions in the sky before the formation “took off,” she explained. The Academy Award winner also acknowledged that she had a “bit of a buzz going” after drinking on the beach.
After the lights disappeared, Bullock asked the group she was with whether they had seen the UFOs, though she believes one other person may have witnessed the ship.
Bullock kept the experience to herself for years, until the release of government documents gave her an opportunity to speak about it. “That exact formation was also seen by legitimate pilots,” she said, according to a clip shared by the show’s Instagram account. “So I feel vindicated.”
She also addressed the obvious skeptical response: Could the display have been a resort drone show? Bullock dismissed that possibility based on the timing. “This was before drones were around,” she noted, explaining that the sighting took place before the consumer drone era.
In June, fellow actor Whoopi Goldberg also shared her belief in UFOs on an episode of The View, saying they had been “among us for a very long time,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
