North West took the stage on her own at The Vic Theatre in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood, marking her first headline concert at 13. Her parents, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, showed their support from the VIP section.
Both parents had business in the area. Earlier Saturday (Sept. 5), North visited her SKIMS flagship in Chicago’s Gold Coast, sharing photos from the store in an all-black outfit. Meanwhile, Ye is fresh off two sold-out concerts at Soldier Field.
The all-ages, one-night performance comes after North’s Kimokawaii Tour, a 14-date North American run with rapper Molly Santana, was cancelled.
Instead of stepping away from live performances following the cancellation, North followed through with tonight’s solo show. “This is my hobby, this is what I like to do, this is what I wanna do with my life,” she said in a recent interview with Dazed.
Released in early May, N0rth4evr features six tracks across 11 minutes, blending rage rap, emo, hyperpop, alternative rock, and metal. North has summed up performing the project in three words: “Fun, relieving and exciting.”
