Kodak Black appears to be rushing to finish a meal before being handed over to authorities in footage circulating on social media this week. However, the video does not show a recent incident.
The body camera footage being widely shared actually dates back to May 14 of this year. Many posts highlighting the food-related moment from the Pompano Beach, Florida-recorded video have left out that context, potentially leading some to believe the Kodak The Blessing artist had been arrested in recent days. That is not the case.
Other posts have also claimed that Kodak “made” officials wait for him to finish eating “before they arrested him,” but that framing is misleading.

When contacted for comment on Tuesday (Sept. 8), Bradford Cohen, Kodak’s attorney, confirmed that the footage was old.
“It is from the arrest that was reported on from May 2026,” “This is not new, just another attempt of law enforcement to attempt to dirty up the client and create a narrative.”
The case has since been dismissed with prejudice. This story may be updated.
Kodak was arrested on May 14 and initially faced allegations of fleeing and eluding law enforcement and resisting an officer. At the time, local reports indicated that the charges were connected to an incident in February of this year.
Earlier in May, Kodak was arrested in an unrelated case in Orange County, prompting Cohen to criticize what he called the “weak legal basis” behind multiple cases against his client.
“This is an ongoing theme where cases that would normally not be filed due to a weak legal basis are filed against [Bill Kapri, a.k.a. Kodak Black],” adding that the case “should have never been filed.”
