Ariana Grande shared a tender moment with Ricky Alvarez in a behind-the-scenes video wrapping up her Eternal Sunshine tour.
On Friday, Sept. 4, the pop star posted an Instagram Reel featuring behind-the-scenes footage and highlights from the tour, which concluded in London on Tuesday, Sept. 1, after 41 dates.
In the video, Grande, 33, rehearsed onstage inside an empty arena before taking a break at the edge of the stage. As Alvarez, 35, photographed her, she leaned down and shared a passionate kiss with him.
The black-and-white footage later showed the “7 rings” singer speaking to the audience during her final Eternal Sunshine tour performance at London’s O2 Arena.
“This has been one of the most beautiful, extraordinary experiences of my life and I just wanna express my gratitude without sobbing completely. It has been so special and I’ll cherish this experience always. Thank you, and I love you so much always,” Grande told the crowd before launching into her 2025 track “Hampstead.”
“this experience has meant more to me than words can possibly say … ‘i love you’ doesn’t begin to cover it. thank you. from the bottom of my heart. yours always, ariana,” Grande captioned the post.
Throughout the Eternal Sunshine tour, the Wicked star has been switching up the lyrics to her 2018 hit “Thank U, Next.”
During her final show on Sept. 1, Grande made another change while singing the verse that mentions Alvarez.
The original song includes, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh.”
But during the performance, she sang, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / I’m tryna make him my last.”
At her July 13 show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the “hate that i made you love me” artist changed the line to, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / We always find our way back.”
Meanwhile, during her June 26 performance at Austin’s Moody Center, she sang, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / I know he’s still got my back.”
Last month, Grande made her rekindled romance with professional dancer and photographer Instagram official by sharing a photo dump that featured pictures of the two together. In one snap, Grande took a mirror selfie showing off their matching outfits, while Alvarez stood beside her with his arm around her shoulder and his hand holding hers, according to previous reports.
In another blurry mirror photo, Alvarez appeared to be behind the camera as Grande turned toward him.
The post came nearly a month after he was spotted dancing at Grande’s Brooklyn show while she performed her 2024 track “Imperfect for You.”
On July 7, a source said that “Ricky has always been a friend and confidant” to Grande and that she “really trusts him.”
“He has such great, positive energy, makes her laugh, and she enjoys spending time with him,” the source added.
A separate source said on July 14 that the pair was “taking things very slowly.”
