Rick Ross was arrested in Miami earlier this week on battery charges stemming from alleged domestic violence, but wasted no time getting back to vacation mode. Taking to Instagram, he shared photos from his trips to Dubai and Paris, prompting plenty of reactions referencing his denial of the allegations against him after he was released from jail on bond.
“First and foremost, I need silence,” Ross had told reporters. “I am totally innocent of these fabricated allegations made against me. I’ll be in Dubai tomorrow, Paris Saturday, and I plan on having a bowl of rigatoni with heavy marinara Sunday. I repeat: rigatoni, heavy marinara. Thank you all for your time. Enjoy your day.”
He certainly kept his word about the travel plans. It remains to be seen whether the Maybach Music Group mogul will have anything else to say publicly as the battery case continues to unfold.
That seems unlikely, however, as Rick Ross will be absent from pre-trial hearings related to the misdemeanor battery and felony battery by strangulation charges. He waived his right to attend, leaving his legal team to appear on his behalf. Consequently, we may not hear any further public statements from him on the matter until the case concludes. That said, there’s still a possibility of more social media posts, statements, or other responses and remarks.
For those who may have missed it, Rick Ross was released from jail on either a $5K or $6K bond following his arrest on Thursday (October 1). He pleaded not guilty to the charges, which came after domestic abuse allegations made by his ex, Jazzma Kendrick.
Kendrick had shared a photo of her injured lip on Instagram, accusing Rozay of being responsible. She later expressed gratitude to those who showed her support, shortly before his arrest on battery charges.
However, authorities have yet to explicitly identify Kendrick as the alleged victim in the case. Some fans connected the dots after noticing that the arrest affidavit refers to the alleged victim only as “JK.” Still, this detail does not definitively confirm the speculation.
In any event, Ross remains overseas as the case moves forward. His arraignment is reportedly scheduled for October 22 in Miami-Dade County.
