Kylie Jenner is taking her biggest acting step yet, leaving behind reality TV and her signature pink wigs for a murder mystery.
Jenner is set to star in and executive produce Bachelorette Weekend, a thriller drama that is reportedly nearing a straight-to-series order at Hulu, according to Deadline. The project marks the 29-year-old Kylie Cosmetics founder’s first major original scripted role and places her in the middle of a much darker storyline. Jenner will portray a bride whose bachelorette getaway ends with her body being discovered in a swimming pool.
The working-titled series will explore what unfolded over the course of the weekend as the bride’s closest friends become suspects in her murder. While Jenner’s character dies, Deadline describes the bride as the show’s “North Star,” with the mystery piecing together the events that ultimately led to her death.
Jenner will also executive produce the project alongside her sister Kim Kardashian, writer and creator Lauren Oliver, and Kapital Entertainment’s Aaron Kaplan. Jaiden Kaplan is attached as a co-executive producer.
The series is based on an unpublished novel by Flora Collins, whose previous works include Nanny Dearest and A Small Affair. Oliver, the bestselling author of Before I Fall and the Delirium trilogy, developed the property through her StoryGiants company and penned the television adaptation.
Kapital Entertainment initially developed the project in-house before sending the script to Kardashian, who reportedly viewed it as a possible starring opportunity for her younger sister.
Jenner’s casting takes her well beyond the reality TV career that first made her famous. She and Kardashian already star in and executive produce Hulu’s The Kardashians, which is set to return for its eighth season on Oct. 8. Jenner has also started exploring scripted acting, recently making a cameo in Charli xcx’s A24 film The Moment.
The new role also comes as Jenner has been revisiting the pop-culture image that helped shape her individual identity outside of her famous family. This summer, she brought back the pink hair associated with her mid-2010s “King Kylie” era for a Dunkin’ campaign.
“I feel like the whole campaign was really about bringing King Kylie back in a way that feels playful, nostalgic and just perfect for the summer,” Jenner said at the time.
Jenner’s history of experimenting with her appearance goes back years. Pink hair became part of her signature style after she sported a baby-pink wig at Coachella in 2015, and she has revisited the shade several times since, including pastel pink hair in 2018 and another bubblegum-pink revival in 2024.
Jenner previously explained her frequent transformations by saying she had developed “this addiction to changing my hair,” adding that switching up her look made her “feel like a new person.”
