Drake Leaves His Music Out of the Running for the 2027 Grammy Awards

Drake has reportedly opted out of submitting music for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards.

The Toronto rapper’s ongoing rift with the Grammys appears to be continuing, as he reportedly sits out the prestigious awards show for another year. Sources told Billboard that Drake did not submit any music to The Recording Academy this year, including his May releases Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour.

XXL has contacted Drake’s team for a comment.

Drake’s relationship with the Grammys has been complicated since he publicly criticized the awards in 2017. Since then, his participation in the competition has been inconsistent. His most recent submissions came in 2024, including his collaborative album with 21 Savage, Her Loss. Drake last won a Grammy in 2023, taking home Best Melodic Rap Performance for his contribution to Future’s “Wait for U,” featuring Tems.

Nominations for the 2027 Grammy Awards are scheduled to be announced on Nov. 16, with the ceremony set to take place on Feb. 7, 2027.

Although Drake may not be pursuing another Grammy win, he appears to have major plans for 2027. Last month, he revealed that he would embark on a tour next year to support his three new albums, Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour.

“Obviously, a tour is coming, and there is other things on the horizon,” he said during a recent interview. “Some big shows. We’ll be out in 2027 to see everybody again across the world.”
