A$AP Rocky and Rihanna are among pop culture’s most talked-about couples, and they often share updates about each other’s activities. However, it seems Rocky’s comments about his partner may have caused a little tension at home. Earlier this year, the rapper hinted that Rihanna was working on new music, a revelation that may have earned him a serious talking-to.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter at the Academy Museum Gala on Saturday, October 17, Rocky was asked how things went the day after he teased Rihanna’s musical plans. It appears the Harlem-born artist will be more careful about sharing details of what RiRi might be working on in the studio.
“It was hell,” he said with a laugh. “Yeah, I shouldn’t have done that.” When the interviewer gave the rapper, actor, and fashion designer an opportunity to clarify his comments, he responded, “Nah, I’m going to mind my business.”
Meanwhile, A$AP Rocky is keeping busy with his own music. He recently released the single “Shroom Clouds” with reggie and Jeremih ahead of the deluxe edition, “Disc 2,” of his early 2026 album Don’t Be Dumb. The project marked his long-awaited return following 2018’s TESTING, and Rihanna finds herself in a similar position as fans continue waiting for her next musical release.
Rihanna’s last album, 2016’s ANTI, remains a fan favorite, but supporters are eager for her long-awaited ninth studio album, widely known among the Navy as R9. This is hardly the first time fans have received hints about the project, and it likely won’t be the last. However, it seems A$AP Rocky won’t be the one teasing Rihanna’s music to fans going forward.
Interestingly, Rihanna recently opened up about her upcoming music at a Fenty Beauty event, revealing that she has approximately 170 unreleased songs in her vault. Even so, fans are once again left speculating about when R9 might finally arrive.
Unfortunately, other developments involving A$AP Rocky and Rihanna are far more serious. The woman accused of shooting at the couple’s home has pleaded not guilty to upgraded charges ahead of her upcoming trial.
