Chris Brown and Usher seemingly put rumors of a feud behind them after taking the stage together for the second night of The R&B Tour in Atlanta.
On Friday (November 6), a video shared on social media captured the two singers performing the “Back to Sleep” remix during the second of their five scheduled nights at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. However, the pair maintained considerable distance from each other on stage.
At another point during the concert, Brown and Usher also performed the remix of “It Depends.”
The reunion followed reports of a backstage disagreement on Thursday (November 5). The concert was originally scheduled to begin at 7:30 P.M., but it didn’t kick off until around 10 P.M., running roughly two and a half to nearly three hours behind schedule. Both artists reportedly shortened their sets and skipped their usual joint performances altogether. Fans also caught Usher addressing the audience with the words: “Atlanta, welcome to my show.”
According to anonymous sources who spoke to TMZ, Brown and Usher allegedly got into a “verbal argument” over whether the concert should proceed as heavy traffic prevented fans from getting into the venue.
The sources further claimed that the Grammy-winning stars had developed “extremely competitive” tension throughout their joint tour, eventually leading to a clash of egos.
Friday’s concert also featured appearances from several notable hip-hop and R&B acts, including Bow Wow, Muni Long, Jermaine Dupri, Tyrese and others.
Following the TMZ report, Brown seemingly addressed claims of tension between him and Usher by sharing an Instagram Story that read: “Internet. Don’t fall for it.”
Announced in April, The R&B Tour comes nearly three years after Brown and Usher reportedly had an altercation at a Las Vegas roller rink. The alleged incident reportedly began after Brown became upset with Teyana Taylor.
The Atlanta leg continues Sunday (November 8), with additional performances scheduled for November 10 and November 11. From there, the tour will head to Los Angeles, New Orleans, Houston and Miami before wrapping up in Tampa on December 12.
