Lady Gaga continues to prove she’s a powerhouse in both music and film, and now she’s gearing up for a major collaboration with a legendary director.
During the Giffoni Film Festival, Tim Burton fielded questions from fans after a screening of Wednesday’s second season and was asked about working with Gaga. Burton had nothing but praise for her.
“Honestly, she’s an amazing artist, and I just worked with her on Wednesday a little bit,” he shared, before teasing an additional project. “And I’ve done something else with her.”
While Burton didn’t spill details about the mystery project, he made it clear how much he values their connection. “She’s just an inspiring artist, so I feel very connected to her. Just for me, it’s exciting to work with an artist that I respect and admire. I’m not a musician, I’m not a music person, but she’s a real artist, and that was very inspiring to me,” he added.
Beyond her music career, Lady Gaga has been making major waves on screen, with standout roles in 2021’s House of Gucci and 2018’s A Star is Born. This year has been another huge one for the multitalented star. Back in March, she dropped her seventh studio album, Mayhem, which shot straight to No. 1 on the Billboard 200. That milestone followed her electrifying turn as Harley Quinzel in Joker: Folie à Deux, a role that also came with a companion album.
In Wednesday, Gaga will take on the role of Rosaline Rotwood, a teacher at Nevermore Academy, the school where Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) studies. The exciting casting news was announced in May during Netflix’s Tudum event, where the Grammy and Oscar winner treated fans to a live performance of “Zombieboy” from Mayhem.
The second season of Wednesday will debut its first four episodes on Netflix on Wednesday, August 6, with the remaining four set to premiere on September 3. Even before the new season drops, the hit series has already been renewed for a third season.
