Megan Thee Stallion and Psy Team Up for New ‘KPopped’ Competition Series — Watch the Trailer

Megan Thee Stallion and K-pop icon Psy are set to headline Apple TV+’s brand-new eight-part competition series KPopped — and the first trailer is here.

Premiering on August 29, KPopped pairs several Western artists with some of the biggest names in K-pop to reimagine and “K-Poppify” some of their most iconic tracks.

The lineup of Western stars includes Kesha, Vanilla Ice, Spice Girls, Eve, J Balvin, Kylie Minogue, TLC, Boy George, Ava Max, and Boyz II Men. They’ll be teaming up with top K-pop groups such as BILLIE, Itzy, KEP1ER, JO1, Ateez, STAYC, Kiss of Life, and Blackswan.

Hosted by actor-comedian Soojeong Son, the series will feature Megan Thee Stallion and Psy at the forefront, with Megan also serving as an executive producer alongside Moira Ross and Lionel Richie.

KPopped will showcase brand-new remixes of beloved tracks like “Savage,” “Wannabe,” “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” “Waterfalls,” and “Ice Ice Baby.”

The KPopped trailer teases plenty of high-energy moments from the competition series, which will culminate in a live performance in Seoul, South Korea, where the audience will choose the ultimate winner.

Viewers also get a glimpse of the intense training and rehearsals that all the artists undergo, with J Balvin candidly admitting that he’s struggling to keep up with the K-pop idols’ next-level dance skills.

In other K-pop news, Netflix announced on Tuesday (July 29) that KPop Demon Hunters is officially the streamer’s most-watched original animated film of all time since its debut on June 20.

According to What’s On Netflix data, the film has amassed roughly 132.4 million total views and has consistently stayed in the platform’s Top 10.

The previous record-holder was the 2023 Adam Sandler-led animated feature Leo.

KPop Demon Hunters follows the fictional girl group Huntr/x—members Rumi, Mira, and Zoey—who juggle their lives as K-pop idols by night and demon hunters by day, protecting their fans from supernatural threats.
