GloRilla Concert Cancellation Triggers $2.5 Million Lawsuit Against Promoters

A canceled GloRilla concert has sparked a massive $2.5 million lawsuit.

According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, newly launched event company Esmail Entertainment is suing Shaw Management Enterprises for fraud, civil theft, and interfering with business expectations. The legal drama centers around a scrapped August 6 show at Cleveland’s Wolstein Center that was set to feature GloRilla, Moneybagg Yo, and Skilla Baby.

Esmail claims trouble began just two days after ticket sales launched, when Shaw allegedly told them to stop all promotion without giving any explanation. After reaching out to GloRilla’s team, Esmail says they were informed negotiations with Shaw were still ongoing.

The lawsuit accuses Shaw of not only lying about securing the artists but also forging booking documents. That alleged forgery reportedly led to GloRilla pulling out entirely. The deals for Moneybagg Yo and Skilla Baby were also reportedly fake, according to the complaint.

Esmail says they paid Shaw $280,000 in deposits — but only got $20,000 back. They’re now claiming up to $2.5 million in losses from marketing expenses and ticket revenue, as the show was expected to pack the venue with thousands of fans.

GloRilla, Moneybagg Yo, and Skilla Baby are not named as defendants in the suit.
