Blac Chyna is preparing to mark three years of sobriety this September and is opening up about what inspired her alcohol-free journey.
In a conversation with TMZ, the TV star — born Angela White — spoke about her choice to quit drinking and shared details of her new 30 Day Sobriety Challenge, launching Friday.
“I needed to better my life,” Chyna said. “Once I got baptized and I started to feel the convictions, because it’s not just you get baptized and then you just live your life — you have to read the Bible.”
She continued, “I really started to reflect and see like, ‘Okay, I’m not okay, and I’m not healed.’ Once God, Jesus delivered me … it takes your spirituality to get you all the way through it.”
The 37-year-old admitted she was once a “binge drinker,” a habit often seen on reality TV shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Rob & Chyna, and Love & Hip Hop. Looking back, Chyna told the outlet she’s come “so far.”
Her 30 Day Sobriety Challenge counts down to September 14 — the third anniversary of her being alcohol-free. She explained that the challenge helps participants stay accountable while identifying the “triggers” that push them away from sobriety. The program includes scriptures, journaling prompts, and more.
Chyna is also gearing up for the release of her new film, Pardon Me: The Bevelyn B. Williams Story, in which she stars as the lead. The biographical drama tells the true story of an anti-abortion activist jailed for targeting abortion clinics. The Christian film premieres Friday (August 15) and will be available to stream at WatchPardonMe.com.
