Offset has revealed that his upcoming track “Move On” serves as closure to his relationship with Cardi B.
In a new interview with the Associated Press, the rapper broke down the meaning behind the song.
“It’s about moving on, like, peacefully,” he said. “That’s what the message is supposed to be. It’s all love and peace.”
He went on to explain why he chose to end his album with the track: “I just ended the album with that [song], just to end that chapter because it’s time to move on, it’s over and done with. It was great while it lasted. That shouldn’t be the topic for either one of us no more. It’s a book that’s closed.”
If his recent interviews are any clue, Offset seems to have finally accepted the reality of his split with Cardi B. His comments about the meaning behind “Move On” came not long after he admitted he was at fault for the breakdown of their marriage.
Speaking with Ebro Darden on Apple Music, Offset didn’t sugarcoat it: “I fucked up. Just being real.” He added that instead of dwelling on the past, he’s focused on growth. “I gotta acknowledge that and get back on the journey.”
Offset and Cardi’s relationship has dominated headlines in 2025, fueled by their messy back-and-forths, Cardi’s new romance, and their ongoing divorce.
Back in June, Cardi opened up about just how toxic things had gotten, saying she believed she might have ended up in prison if she hadn’t walked away. During an X Spaces chat, she revealed she was single from September through February, filling that time with partying, self-discovery, and “crying a lot.”
“I don’t think people understand how tired I was … I was mentally drained,” she shared. “Couldn’t eat—I was getting frequent headaches. I was literally losing my mind. I gave [him] chances after chances.”
She didn’t hold back on the toll it took: “If I was still there, I was gonna end up going to jail. Cause I was gonna end up killing him, seriously, with my own bare hands. It was just getting too much.”
