Sarah Jessica Parker Shares How She Continues to Keep Carrie Bradshaw’s Spirit Alive

Though And Just Like That wrapped up last week with a finale that left fans divided, Carrie Bradshaw’s legacy—and her unforgettable wardrobe—are far from over.

In a new interview with People published Sunday, Aug. 17, just three days after the finale, Sarah Jessica Parker revealed that she’s held on to some of Carrie’s iconic outfits and even slips into them on special occasions.

“I just did it,” Parker shared. “I was invited to a birthday party in England, and we were already nearby, so I pulled from the archive.”

She admitted it’s not something she does often, but explained that some of Carrie’s looks are simply too legendary to wear only once. “It’s one of the few occasions I’ve ever pulled from the archive for personal use,” she said. “It’s not every day.”

When she does revisit Carrie’s closet, Parker said she’s “very thoughtful” about the decision, asking herself: “What would the circumstances and the environment be that I would be wearing this, and would it be okay and safe, or would it be destroyed? I’m very judicious about that.”

Parker first stepped into Carrie Bradshaw’s Manolos in 1998 when Sex and the City premiered on HBO, running until 2004. The story continued with two films in 2008 and 2010, and later with And Just Like That, which streamed from 2021 to 2025.

While the spinoff sparked plenty of mixed reviews, one thing remains undeniable—Carrie Bradshaw’s love affair with fashion. And thanks to Parker, those iconic looks won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
