6ix9ine and Trippie Redd’s feud stretches back years.
The two first linked up on “Poles 1469” in April 2017, but things quickly soured. After a video surfaced later that year showing 6ix9ine with a 13-year-old, Trippie blasted him as a “pedophile,” which sparked their bitter rivalry.
Not long after, Tekashi retaliated by having Trippie jumped at New York’s Gansevoort Hotel in November 2017.
“The people who beat up Trippie, that was us,” 6ix9ine admitted to DJ Vlad, adding, “I pled guilty to this shit.”
He broke down the night’s events: “The n***a has a music video. I get the call. ‘The n***a’s here.’ I said, ‘All right, bet. I’m on my way.’ I follow the n***a. He in a big ass sprinter. He stops in front of his hotel. N***as jump out. … All his mans, they fake Bloods from wherever the fuck they at. When a n***a see Trippie, remember Trippie’s in the midst of…30 people. It’s four of us.”
“Nas rocked Trippie’s grills out his mouth, like his grills flew 10 feet in the air,” 6ix9ine recalled. “That na went through the revolving doors. He came in spinning and left spinning. I’m serious,” he added, even comparing the scene to a Tom & Jerry cartoon.
“Like I said, people don’t like me ‘cause it’s facts. Cool. Now they’re going to say, ‘Look, there he go snitching.’ These is facts,” he continued.
During the interview, Vlad showed a clip of Trippie talking about the attack on Instagram Live, as well as an old video of 6ix9ine telling him to “stop snitching.”
In 2019, while facing a federal racketeering case, 6ix9ine testified in court that he ordered the attack. “We attacked him at his hotel,” he admitted, per Vulture.
He said Trippie’s manager had reached out to “squash the beef” and end their “online verbal attacks,” but Tekashi was still “upset.” So when he was invited to a video shoot, he saw it as his chance to strike back.
That racketeering trial ended with 6ix9ine pleading guilty to nine counts, including racketeering, conspiracy, and weapons offenses. He was later sentenced to 24 months in prison.
