YBN Nahmir is clapping back at Almighty Jay’s claim that the YBN crew fell apart because of gang ties.
In a TikTok video, Nahmir fired back at Jay’s recent comments that their split happened after he moved to Los Angeles and started “hanging around gangbangers.” The “Rubbin Off the Paint” rapper insisted that wasn’t true, revealing that the real reason behind their breakup was much deeper—and personal.
“Okay, if you gonna say that, let me say what the fuck it really is then,” Nahmir said. “YBN broke up because Nahmir was hanging around gangbangers? No. YBN broke up because you did some foul ass shit, and almost got my mom killed, and I ain’t say nothing about it on the Internet until now.”
In response, Almighty Jay brought up a separate incident where he was allegedly pistol-whipped and robbed of his jewelry in a studio earlier this year. He didn’t speak on the accusation involving Nahmir’s mother but brushed off the situation, calling out Nahmir for “bringing up shit that happened in 2019… I was 20, moving like a goofy.”
So far, it’s still unclear what exactly went down between the two former YBN members.
The two rappers, who were once part of the YBN trio alongside YBN Cordae, shot to fame in the late 2010s before officially parting ways in 2020. As Cordae’s solo career flourished, he dropped the YBN tag entirely, while Nahmir and Jay’s friendship seemed to crumble over time, fueled by occasional social media clashes.
Although Nahmir didn’t go into detail about the incident involving his mother, his recent remarks have stirred renewed curiosity about the group’s turbulent breakup—hinting that the rift between members may have been far more complicated than fans ever realized.
