Ja Rule is giving Zohran Mamdani his seal of approval after the newly elected mayor used one of his classics for his victory speech.
During his celebration on Tuesday night (Nov. 5), Mamdani walked out to Ja Rule’s 2004 anthem “New York,” featuring Fat Joe and Jadakiss. The song choice was seen as a cheeky nod to his ongoing feud with 50 Cent, who has openly criticized Mamdani’s plans to raise taxes on wealthy New Yorkers.

Ja Rule reposted the clip to his Instagram Story on Wednesday, adding a mechanical arm emoji and a hundreds points emoji to show his approval.
Zohran Mamdani was officially declared the winner of the New York City mayoral race. According to NBC News, the 34-year-old garnered over 1 million votes, defeating former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican contender Curtis Sliwa.
