Back in January, reports surfaced alleging that Big30, Pooh Shiesty, Pooh Shiesty’s father, and six other men were involved in the robbery and kidnapping of Gucci Mane at gunpoint in Texas. Several months later, authorities arrested eight suspects, while a ninth individual remained on the run.
Big30, whose real name is Rodney Lamont Wright Jr., was initially granted a $100,000 bond. However, a judge later determined that he posed a flight risk, leading to his continued detention while awaiting trial.
Now, according to XXL, a judge has reversed that earlier decision and approved Big30’s pre-trial release. The ruling marks a significant legal victory for the rapper and comes shortly after Pooh Shiesty’s father was granted a similar release order last week.
“The Court finds that the Government has failed to establish that Wright is a flight risk or that the conditions of release imposed by Judge Christoff will not reasonably assure the safety of any person in the community,” the ruling stated. “Accordingly, the Court denies the government’s motion. The Court vacates any stay of the release order.”
Pooh Shiesty, however, remains behind bars. Despite efforts to secure bond, he has so far been unsuccessful. Meanwhile, the trial surrounding the alleged kidnapping and robbery of Gucci Mane is currently scheduled to begin on July 6.
Developments in the case are moving quickly, with the trial now just weeks away. The ongoing situation has attracted significant attention from hip-hop fans, particularly due to the widely discussed connection between Pooh Shiesty and Gucci Mane.
As the case continues to unfold, more updates are expected in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for the latest developments.
