Latto and her sister Brooklyn made Father’s Day extra memorable with a heartfelt surprise for their dad.
On Sunday (June 21), the sisters presented their father, Shayne Stephens, with a matte black Ram TRX. In a video capturing the moment, Shayne is seen carrying two Louis Vuitton shopping bags as he walks toward the truck, which was decorated with a large bow.
“Daddy’s girl at [heart emoji],” Latto, 27, wrote on her Instagram Story while reposting the video.
It appears the relationship between the “Big Mama” rapper and her father hasn’t always been smooth. In 2024, according to BET, Latto alleged that her dad stole from her while serving as her manager.
Speaking with XXL in 2023, the rapper opened up about their fallout.
“I’ve had a lot of regrets,” she explained. “Mixing family and business, that’s, like, one of my biggest regrets. I was introduced to everyone with my dad as my manager, and now we don’t even speak, so it’s like, I hate that.”
She added, “Money. Industry shit. Ego shit infiltrated by industry bullshit. They be saying [your parent as your manager] never works out anyway, so I wish I would have just never even did it.”
Although it’s not known exactly when or how the two mended their relationship, Stephens attended Latto’s baby shower in March. He also recorded several videos from the cheetah-print-themed event.
The Sugar Honey Iced Tea artist welcomed a baby last month, though she has neither confirmed nor denied speculation that 21 Savage is the child’s father.
