Shortly after news broke of Tay Keith’s tragic passing, Nashville police revealed in a statement that he was found dead during a wellness check. Now, TMZ has shared new details in the developing story, releasing audio from the 911 call made by the acclaimed producer’s girlfriend on June 22. While her identity was not disclosed, the recording captured her growing concern after she had gone 24 hours without hearing from Tay Keith.
During the call, she told the dispatcher that she was already waiting in the lobby of Keith’s residence and planned to remain there until officers arrived. She explained that the day before, “He asked me to come over, and I got here, and I was trying to call him to let him know, and I haven’t gotten a response since.”
The caller also told the dispatcher that Tay Keith reportedly suffered from “breathing complications” and “high blood pressure.” According to her, communication with the producer unexpectedly stopped, and despite repeatedly knocking on his door, she received no response.
Days earlier, Nashville police shared a brief statement on X regarding the incident. “No foul play is suspected in the death of Brytavious Chambers, 29, also known as Grammy nominated record producer Tay Keith,” the statement read. “He was found dead in his Martin St apt this afternoon by officers performing a welfare check. His death is unclassified pending autopsy results.”
