Jordyn Woods has responded to those questioning why Jaden Smith played such a visible role throughout her wedding celebrations.
Over the weekend, Woods shared a TikTok addressing the online conversation surrounding Smith’s presence at several events leading up to her wedding to Karl-Anthony Towns.
The Aug. 29 video featured a series of photos chronicling Woods and Smith’s friendship from childhood into adulthood. It began with a question Woods had come across from critics online: “Why is Jaden with all of the girls? And at the bridal shower? And helping Karl with his shoes?”
Woods had a straightforward response.
“Because he’s never missed an important moment in my life,” she wrote across the video.
In the caption, Woods described Smith as the “epitome of a day ONE” and reflected on the decades they have spent as friends.
“So grateful to have the epitome of a day ONE. From diapers to marriage,” she wrote. “I can’t wait for his wedding one day but until then!!!”
Woods and Smith have been friends since they were toddlers, with their families growing close through Woods’ late father, John Woods, who worked as a sound engineer on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Woods also highlighted Smith’s support during some of the most significant moments of her life, including the loss of her father.
“He’s never missed a birthday, showing up at my dads funeral and making us all laugh, to now getting married,” she wrote. “I’m so lucky I’ve never had to know a life without our friendship.”
Smith was also reportedly the first person Woods contacted after Towns proposed on Christmas Day 2025.
Much of the recent online discussion came from Smith’s involvement in Woods and Towns’ Aug. 15 wedding festivities. While Smith was not officially a member of the bridal party, he attended the bridal shower and appeared in photos with Woods’ bridesmaids.
There was also an explanation for Smith helping Towns with his shoes before the ceremony. As Maison Christian Louboutin’s first men’s creative director, Smith designed a custom pair of size-20 red bottoms for the Knicks star and helped him put them on.
“My Best Friend Got Married And I Made Karl Size 20 Red Bottoms,” Smith later wrote on Instagram. “Jordyn I Love You So Much Congratulations Karl I Love You Bro Keep The Swag On High.”
Woods and Towns exchanged vows during a black-tie ceremony at a private Malibu residence overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
