Lady Gaga is stepping into a brand-new chapter as a mother. The 40-year-old singer and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, have welcomed their first child together.
Photos obtained by Page Six show Gaga and Polansky in Northern California with their newborn secured against her chest in a baby carrier.
The exciting development helps explain the pop star’s recent disappearance from the spotlight after wrapping up her Mayhem Ball World Tour in April, following nearly nine months on the road and 86 performances.
Gaga’s absence also fueled rumors that she and Polansky had secretly tied the knot. Cosmopolitan reported one account claiming that no one had seen or heard from Gaga for more than a month, with people in her inner circle believing she had married Polansky and gone on a honeymoon. However, a TMZ report published on September 9 disputed those claims, saying close family members who had seen the couple within the previous two weeks maintained that they were still engaged and had not married.
Gaga and Polansky, 42, began their relationship in 2020 and became engaged on April 1, 2024, keeping the news private for several months. Their engagement eventually became public when Gaga introduced Polansky to French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal during the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Polansky, a Harvard-educated entrepreneur who heads the Parker Foundation and serves on the board of Haus Labs, has also become involved in Gaga’s creative work. He has writing and production credits on Harlequin and Mayhem, along with soundtrack work for The Devil Wears Prada 2. His unconventional grass-blade proposal even inspired the Mayhem track “Blade of Grass.”
Gaga had already been open about her desire to become a mother. Speaking to the New York Times Magazine, she said, “I’m excited to be a mom. I used to have a lot of apprehension about it.”
She was even more direct when discussing what she hoped to do next. “I would like to do many things,” she said. “But what I really want to do is be a mom. Hopefully that’s my next starring role.”
