Rap Star 50 Cent Fires Back After Getting Bad Feedback on Vegas Performance

The rap mogul 50 Cent clapped back at a writer who went viral for calling his Vegas stint “the absolute worst performance Vegas has ever seen.”

During one of his residency performances, Fifty took a playful jab at the harsh feedback, particularly the complaint about sound quality issues.

“You should’ve been saying ’50, keep doing that,'” he joked while demonstrating his well-known hand movement – the same one he’d been using throughout each track in the show.

The crowd cracked up as 50 went on explaining his stage choices.

“You expected me to be rolling around on skates like Usher?” he teased. “I watched Chris Brown soaring through the air in Africa. My tracks don’t call for me to be flying around in Africa.”

The audience was loving it, cheering him on, so 50 returned to his classic move and invited everyone to join in.

“If you’ve still got energy, show me those hands up in the air,” he called out.

These comments followed hot on the heels of Jennifer Gay’s critique – a Vegas insider with a million Instagram followers – who’d shared her letdown after catching one of his residency performances.

“50 Cent’s Vegas show might be the worst thing to hit the strip,” she narrated over her Instagram video review. “The place was packed and folks seemed pumped, but let me break down why it was such a letdown.”

“The audio was a mess, and you could hear his hype men more than him throughout the show,” she added. “He barely spoke – just mentioned doing six shows before bouncing. Gave us 84 minutes then disappeared. Seemed totally checked out. And these tickets weren’t cheap.”

Long-time rival Ja Rule jumped at the chance to throw shade, sharing the review on X with “Not the worst…” and some laughing emojis. He also cosigned someone’s take that his music stood the test of time better than 50’s.

Gay later responded to 50’s comments on X: “I’m sticking to my honest take, both as someone who genuinely digs 50’s work and as a full-time Vegas show critic.”

“Opening night’s sound and production weren’t up to Vegas standards, which was disappointing,” she explained. “Later shows seemed better with guest appearances and improved audio. No shade intended toward 50 or his crew.”
