Dominican star El Alfa’s heart shattered as he shared he’s leaving music after losing his grandma.
The dembow hitmaker poured his heart out on Instagram Friday about the passing of his grandma Ramonita.
“My heart’s never felt this broken,” he shared in Spanish. “Lost my grandma’s precious love. From the moment I was born, she showered me with endless love and more. I’m broken inside. May she rest in God’s glory. She showed me what loving God means. Love you forever #Ramonita.”
The heartbroken artist El Alfa, whose real name is Emanuel Herrera Batista, hints at stepping away from his music career.
“Life keeps moving, but my pain runs deep. My grandma taught me about God’s love, so I’ll honor her memory through mourning,” El Alfa shared Tuesday on his page. “Nothing made her happier than watching me win, but I’m struggling to even keep my eyes open. Taking a break from my amazing fans for now. I’ll return soon. Peace out, Instagram.”
“I wish I had more moments with her, but my career got in the way. I’m counting down to the end – December 18 this year is my last day as a performer,” he revealed. “Sleep peacefully, grandma Ramonita. Love you forever.”
Known as “the King of Dembow,” the Dominican superstar rose to fame with club bangers like “Singapur,” “Suave,” his Peso Pluma collab “Plebada,” and the viral hit “La Mamá de la Mamá.”
