Polo G Eyes Streaming Career: ‘Heard They Pay Better Than Rap’

Polo G’s hinting at switching up his career path.

The Chicago star says he might try his hand at streaming since he’s heard about the money in it. Though with that crying-laughing emoji he added, he’s probably just playing.

“I wanna be a streamer one day too I heard They pay better than rap” he posted.

Top streamers are really raking it in. Forbes put Kai Cenat on their 2024 creator list with $8.5 million in earnings. And let’s not forget Adin Ross gifting Trump a Rolex and custom Tesla Cybertruck last year.

No wonder rappers, who have to grind through recording, performing, interviews, and album sales, might be eyeing what looks like an easier hustle.

The “streamers are the new rappers” idea might also be influencing Polo G’s interest. RDC World’s Mark Phillips even dropped a funny skit about this streaming takeover.

In the clip, Phillips plays a rapper who links with a streamer and realizes how good they’ve got it. While hanging out, the streamer gets all the fan love while Phillips gets relegated to taking fan photos of the streamer.

In another scene from the skit, Phillips loses it when he sees yet another streamer’s mansion – all earned just from sharing their daily life online. It wraps with Phillips trying to get on stream any chance he gets.

Speaking of mixing streaming and music, Plaqueboymax has been making waves since joining FaZe Clan last April. His “In the Booth” show stands out by creating music live with guests on Twitch, rather than just hosting rappers like other streamers do.

But don’t worry about Polo G quitting rap just yet – he just dropped one of his deepest tracks, “Thug Memorials,” last month.
