Taylor Swift Has Dropped About 150,000 Followers Since Super Bowl LIX

Taylor Swift’s Instagram followers have plunged by over 100,000 following fan backlash at this year’s Super Bowl.

According to SportsMillions, the pop star’s following dropped by 144,200 after getting heavily booed at the event, though she still maintains a massive 282 million follower base.

Swift showed up at Super Bowl LIX to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce of the Chiefs. When cameras caught her on the big screen alongside her dad Scott, brother Austin, and friends Ice Spice, the Haim sisters, and Ashley Avignone, Eagles fans in the crowd loudly booed her. Swift kept her cool, flashing a smile before taking her seat next to Ice Spice.

While Swift stayed quiet about the incident, a source close to Kelce told Daily Mail about his reaction.

“Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him,” the source said. “He always protects her and it broke his heart. He was already having a tough night and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn’t help. Travis knows that this hurt her and anyone can see this.

“It’s clear to many that the Eagles fans feel she is a traitor of sorts, being from Pennsylvania and even wearing Eagles gear prior to dating him,” the source continued. “Travis believes that it was unnecessary for Trump to take a dig at her especially after he voiced that he was honored for a president to be there.”

The source referenced President Donald Trump’s social media post about the booing.

“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift,” Trump wrote. “She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”

Meanwhile, despite the Chiefs’ 40-22 loss to the Eagles, Kelce has gained 12,370 Instagram followers since the Super Bowl.
