Kendrick Lamar is being considered as a performer for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
According to Sports Illustrated, the 22-time Grammy winner could join already confirmed acts Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. As a Compton native representing the West Coast, Kendrick seems a natural choice for the event.
“The rebirth, the rebuild, maybe reimagining L.A. 2.0—and the Olympics as a catalyst for all those things—we think is really part of our ethos,” Los Angeles Olympic organizing committee chairman Casey Wasserman told Sports Illustrated.

“Fortunately in my day job I represent Kendrick Lamar,” said Casey Wasserman, Los Angeles Olympic organizing committee chairman and CEO of Wasserman sports marketing agency. “He is truly an L.A. icon, so I think it would be a pretty fair bet that Kendrick will be involved in the Olympics in Los Angeles in some way.”
In February, Kendrick headlined the Super Bowl LIX Apple Music Halftime Show, featuring SZA, Mustard, Serena Williams, and Samuel L. Jackson. The pgLang-produced performance reportedly attracted over 133 million viewers, exceeding the game’s viewership.
Kendrick’s sixth album, GNX, showcased West Coast rap with California artists like AzChike and Dody6.
