Twitch superstar Kai Cenat claims he passed on an invitation to this year’s Met Gala.
While streaming recently, Cenat told his viewers that he had the chance to attend the 2025 Met Gala. “I had an opportunity to go to the Met Gala, chat,” he explained, as shown in the footage below. “But, I didn’t go because I’m not gonna lie, the brand that wanted to host me… I didn’t really, like, wanna do that brand.”
This year’s Met Gala theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” with Anna Wintour, Pharrell Williams, ASAP Rocky, Lewis Hamilton, and Colman Domingo serving as co-chairs. While it’s not clear which brand extended the invitation to Cenat, this year’s gala is sponsored by Louis Vuitton. Keep in mind that Wintour makes the final decisions on who makes the guest list.
Many stars attending the Met Gala shell out the $75,000 ticket price themselves, but plenty are actually hosted by fashion brands that buy tables at the event in exchange for celebrities wearing their designs. The complete guest list typically remains secret until the day of the event, but you can count on all the co-chairs making dramatic entrances on the carpet.
Although Cenat got an invite, well-known fashion influencer Wisdom Kaye recently shared that he wasn’t extended an invitation.
