Kai Cenat has disclosed that he was contacted by some of the biggest video streaming platforms regarding his Streamer University event.
During a recent Twitch stream, which was broadcast from his office during the massive live-streamed creator bootcamp, Cenat mentioned that Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and Tubi all showed interest. “One thing I learned with this shit, bro… A lot of people been talking about how this shit should be on Netflix,” he said. “Or Amazon Prime should buy this, Tubi should buy it. Somebody higher and they do it crazy. We already been getting talks with different people.”
While he didn’t explicitly confirm that the three platforms wanted to bring Streamer University to their services, Cenat hinted that discussions have taken place and he believes creators should maintain as much control over their content as possible.
“With an idea like this so original, you gotta keep it where it’s at,” he said. “I want y’all to learn something, bro. Y’all channels, and who you are as a person… This y’all idea, this is your guy’s stuff. Treat your platform as you would treat as you would treat other platforms. Shout out to all these big platforms, they have subscriptions, bro. Twitch, I think of it all like this: If you gonna sub up, you gonna get some good shit. Y’all have the opportunity to make y’all platforms as big as other platforms.”
Cenat is arguably the most popular streamer in the world right now, and his Streamer University creator bootcamp was one of his biggest events yet. Held at an actual college campus in Akron, Ohio, the event brought together up-and-coming creators for a three-day intensive course with classes led by other popular streamers, including DDG, Duke Dennis, and cookingwithkya.
