Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have allegedly separated after nearly a decade together.
Following the couple’s eight-year relationship, People reported on Wednesday (June 4) that the Madame Web actress and Coldplay frontman have called it quits. One source informed the outlet that Johnson and Martin’s breakup “feels final this time” after the former couple previously weathered split rumors.
Last year, it emerged that Johnson and Martin had been engaged for years after they started dating in 2017. While Johnson has never walked down the aisle, Martin was wed to Gwyneth Paltrow from 2003 to 2016, and the former couple share two children, Apple, 21, and Moses, 19.
Johnson, who’s currently promoting her upcoming romantic comedy Materialists, has made no reference to her breakup in interviews but touched on relationships in a recent Los Angeles Times piece.
“For a long time we’ve all been so quick to judge relationships or how they should happen, how they should exist in the world,” she told the publication. “When people should get married. Divorce is bad. All these things that actually, if you think about it, why is divorce bad?”
She added, “Why do people have to get married or at a certain age or only once? Why? It doesn’t matter.”
