Police in Columbus, Ohio have opened an investigation after a viral video showed a man taking a severe fall after he was shoved back when he tried to rush a Lil Scrappy concert stage.
According to TMZ, Columbus Police Department Sergeant James Fuqua said that while authorities weren’t notified about the incident when it happened, they have now started an investigation after a video emerged showing the events. Lil Scrappy was among the acts performing at day 2 (May 31) of the Columbus music festival, SUMMER614.
In the clip, which can be seen below, a man seemed to attempt rushing the stage from the audience but was quickly pushed back by another man. The stage crasher apparently hit the concrete hard, landing on his head. Lil Scrappy briefly stopped the performance to check if the individual was alright, as he noticed the person wasn’t moving after taking the fall. Witnesses said that the man was unconscious for at least several minutes and appeared to be bleeding.
It remains unclear who was responsible for pushing the man, whether it was someone working at the festival or someone from Lil Scrappy’s team. The rapper has not yet made any public statements about the incident, and neither have the SUMMER614 organizers. Fuqua added that the victim hasn’t filed a complaint, and charges will not be pressed unless he does.
