SiR Playfully Points to Drake-Kendrick Beef for Scrapped 2024 Toronto Show

SiR is claiming his previously cancelled Toronto show was caught up in the Drake and Kendrick Lamar battle.

The Top Dawg Entertainment artist was originally set to take the stage last summer at the History venue before the performance was suddenly scrapped.

But SiR finally made his way back to Toronto, hitting the stage at Rebel on Wednesday night (June 4) during his Step Into the Light Tour.

“I kinda got caught in the middle of a beef that I ain’t had shit to do with. I just want to say right now: I did not cancel my show last year, Drake did,” SiR joked with the audience before bursting into laughter, according to a video making rounds online.

“No, no, no, but real talk, it was like some complications and … it was too close to home for a lot of people. So the venue in Toronto, which was ‘partially owned by Drake,’ canceled the show completely,” he broke down. “Then when we tried to switch venues, the next venue was like, ‘Nah, we ain’t fucking with it and I ain’t taking no motherfucking chance. You’re gonna get your ass beat in Toronto.'”

Schoolboy Q, another TDE artist, mentioned he ran into similar obstacles when attempting to perform in The Six last summer.

“THey just cancelled my sHow in TORONTO … CANADIAN POLICE DONT WANT NOBODY FROM TDE PERFORMING,” Q posted on Twitter last July.

He followed up with another tweet, “Actually I get it.. Nvm tHis sHit Lokey Hilarious … Iono wHy dot put me in tHat fucking video.”
