Georgia Rapper Gets Prison Time for Carrying Machine Gun Into Hospital Maternity Ward

An Atlanta rapper has received a prison sentence exceeding five years after carrying a machine gun into a hospital.

Yahoo reports that Terrell Monquez Searcy, who goes by Quez2rr, was discovered inside a hospital’s labor and delivery section on August 17, 2023, possessing a stolen firearm that had been illegally altered.

A nurse spotted the rapper with a weapon, and when security responded, Searcy confessed that he had hidden the firearm beneath a couch cushion.

The weapon turned out to be a Glock Model 17 9mm pistol equipped with a 30-round extended magazine and a “switch” attachment on the back, converting it into a machine gun.

Law enforcement officers later determined that the weapon had been previously reported as stolen in Walton County, Georgia.

According to Yahoo!, Searcy’s music video “Traffic” on YouTube features him displaying a pistol modified to function as a machine gun.

“I put a switch on the back of my Glock, just to clean up the street when it’s time for that action,” he raps in the clip.

U.S. Attorney C. Shanelle Booker released a statement regarding Searcy’s conviction, stating, “Holding people found in possession of machine guns and with illegal conversion devices accountable for breaking federal law remains a top priority in the Middle District of Georgia.

“This case exemplifies how law enforcement and prosecutors work together to effectively remove illegal firearms and other dangerous destructive devices from the streets in order to make our communities safer,” she added.

Following his federal indictment last August, investigators uncovered Instagram communications between Searcy and a female Clayton County Police Department officer where he asked her about any potential outstanding warrants against him.

Earlier this year, local and federal officials executed a search warrant at the rapper’s residence and seized multiple weapons, with one firearm connected through ballistic testing to a drive-by shooting in DeKalb County that wounded four individuals.
