Diddy’s Lead Attorney Wraps With ‘A Tale of Two Trials,’ Claims Cassie ‘Already Won… By a Landslide’

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lead attorney, Marc Agnifilo, wrapped his closing argument with a bold narrative he called “a tale of two trials,” claiming the federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges against his client were “badly exaggerated” and even “made up.”

During the hours-long closing on Friday, June 27, Agnifilo contrasted what he said was the real trial—“told in the evidence”—with the one “told from the mouths of the prosecutors.” He dismissed the charges as blown out of proportion, framing Diddy’s behavior as involving “personal use drugs and threesomes,” not criminal enterprise.

He opened by praising Diddy’s business legacy:
“He has built wonderful, sophisticated, real businesses that have stood the test of time,” Agnifilo said. “The government says his businesses are a racketeering enterprise. Are you kidding me?”

Addressing the sex trafficking allegations, he downplayed the prosecution’s argument that Diddy used housing and financial support to control alleged victim Jane. “Jane has a beautiful house for her child,” he said. “I don’t know what Jane’s doing today, but I know where she’s doing it — in a house he paid for.”

When it came to Cassie Ventura, Agnifilo acknowledged Diddy’s violent behavior but argued she was ultimately the “winner,” highlighting her $20 million settlement from Combs and $10 million from the hotel where the assault happened.
“She’s sitting somewhere in the world with thirty million dollars… If you had to pick a winner, Cassie flat won. It’s not even close.”

Prosecutor Maureen Comey clapped back hard:
“What prize is that? Black eyes? A gash in her head? Sex for days while you have a UTI? Getting urinated in your mouth?”

Agnifilo portrayed Diddy and Cassie’s relationship as intense but consensual, even romantic. “She was always free to leave… If racketeering conspiracy had an opposite, it would be their relationship.” He suggested she “kept it gangsta” by dating Kid Cudi under Diddy’s nose and labeled their dynamic as “swingers.”

He also cast doubt on witness Capricorn Clark’s testimony, calling her “a little off” and claiming she was in love with Diddy. In one striking moment, he denied claims that Diddy brought a gun to Kid Cudi’s house:
“He’s a fighter… No weapons. We’re going to fight. A good old-fashioned John Wayne 8:00 in the morning Hollywood Hills fight.”

Agnifilo doubled down on claims that some assaults stemmed from bad drugs, referencing a text Cassie sent days after one incident: “The drugs were off. The drugs were bad.”

He accused Cassie of lying about a 2018 rape to avoid telling her now-husband that she had consensual sex with Diddy, and brushed off threats to release sex tapes as empty anger: “There is no way on God’s green earth Sean Combs is going to release one of these videos.”

He also criticized Jane’s testimony, implying her anonymity was suspicious and hinting the jury might know who she is, despite courtroom warnings. Agnifilo even questioned whether Jane’s alleged assault was orchestrated for future gain.

Returning to his main theme, he urged jurors to focus on evidence, not the prosecution’s narrative:
“Don’t listen to the other trial, which is the fake trial. Listen to the real trial.”

Comey responded with fire, stating that Diddy may use fists on women, but when it comes to men, he grabs guns—highlighting testimony from Cassie and David James about threats toward Suge Knight. She defended the victims’ credibility, saying none of them were in it for money or fame.

“Cassie had money. She had the media on her side… She never would have testified if this was just about money.”
“Mia has no lawsuit. No payday. She asked to testify under a pseudonym.”
“And Jane has never sued the defendant. She’s not expecting a cent.”

The jury is set to begin deliberations on Monday.
