The recently unveiled track “Got Damn,” produced under Aviator Keyyz’s direction, features Gunna reflecting on his relentless lifestyle and constant motion. Within the lyrics, the artist potentially hints at his future plans, suggesting he might conclude his musical journey at age 40.
In a recent interview with XXL, Gunna discussed his artistic evolution. “My creative process grows alongside my personal development,” he explained. “The artist I was at 24 releasing Drip Season 3 differs from who I am now at 30, creating works like ‘Bittersweet’ and A Gift & A Curse.”
“My current music mirrors my present reality,” he elaborated. “While my past work authentically represented that period, I’m now experiencing a different kind of transformation, which naturally influences my musical expression.”
During the same discussion, Gunna addressed questions about how the YSL Rico case influenced his professional trajectory.
“The impact was substantial,” Gunna acknowledged. “It significantly affected various aspects of my career, from live performances to scheduling, and disrupted our planned album releases. The high-profile nature of the situation created numerous challenges. Nevertheless, we maintain forward momentum, and I’m actively navigating through the current circumstances.”
