Looks like JID and J. Cole have a joint project tucked away.
“We got a whole body of work—15 tracks of straight heat. Just me and Cole going back and forth,” JID shared on The Joe Budden Podcast. “We cooked it up in New York. I’ve never told anybody this before. Sorry, Cole.”
JID also shared a few thoughts on J. Cole’s highly anticipated album, The Fall Off.
“It’s gonna be really good. Y’all gonna see,” he said confidently.
Joe Budden agreed, saying, “I don’t think there’s anybody out there against that. A lot of people are looking forward to that with everything that’s gone down.”
Budden’s remark pointed to Cole’s decision to step away from the rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Back in April 2024, Cole publicly apologized during Dreamville Festival for his diss track “7 Minute Drill,” which had responded to Kendrick’s explosive verse on “Like That.”
The track had been part of Cole’s surprise mixtape Might Delete Later—and as the title hinted, he ended up removing the song.
Cole has been dropping hints about The Fall Off since 2018, even labeling the final track of KOD as “1985 (Intro to The Fall Off).” Fans have been waiting ever since.
