The family of social media personality Rolling Ray is cautioning fans to beware of scammers trying to profit from his passing.
Rolling Ray, born Raymond Harper, died last week, and shortly after, fake accounts claiming ties to his family began surfacing online.
His loved ones have since taken control of his official Instagram, where they posted a warning about one fraudulent page falsely claiming to raise money for funeral expenses.
In one Instagram post, Rolling Ray’s family shared a screenshot of one of the fake accounts, writing: “I want to first say thank you to everyone that has shown love as we continue to push through…. The post was not created by me, Ray’s mother, his siblings nor his stepdad. It’s really sad to see this.”
They continued, “If you would like to send messages, or just simply want to give, you can either DM here and we will provide that information. We appreciate and love all that loved Ray.”
One alleged scam account on TikTok is posing as Harper’s mother, with a bio that reads: “Losing my son, I will forever be heartbroken. He was truly loved. We are currently having a hard time properly burying him. Any donations will help.”
The page features videos of Harper alongside a screenshot of a Cash App QR code.
The Zeus Network confirmed Raymond Harper’s passing last week with a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.
“Gone way too soon. #RestInPeace to the BIG hearted, most Raw, & Real FRIEND & #Zeus Star #RaymondHarper aka @iamrollingray. Your Laughter, Light, & Loving Spirit will Live on FOREVER!
