Migos are set to return with new music and a tour, according to Quavo, who shared the news during a recent interview.
During a conversation with Atlanta’s V-103 radio personality DJ Greg Street, which premiered on their YouTube channel on Sept. 4, Quavo revealed that new Migos music is on the way and that the group plans to hit the road. “We coming back. We’re going to do it one more time,” he told Greg Street in the video below at the 3:38 mark.
“The Migos are back?” Street asked.
“For the people,” Quavo confirmed, adding, “Long live the Rocket.”
For those unfamiliar, Takeoff, the late Migos rapper, was known by the nickname Rocket.
Quavo also suggested that a Migos tour could come after he wraps up his upcoming solo project.
“Oh, there’s more. There’s more,” he said. “We gon’ do it right. We’re going to tour. We’re going to do it right.”
The announcement follows a May post from Quavo and Offset, who shared a series of photos showing themselves back in the studio on the Migos Instagram account.
One photo showed Huncho flipping off the camera while ‘Set appeared locked in and ready to work. In another, Offset partially covered his face as Quavo showed off his diamond-covered necklaces, bracelets, and pinky ring. The caption featured five construction sign emojis, seemingly signaling that the pair were working on something major, potentially a new album.
For now, Quavo is focused on his upcoming solo release, Qrömelife, his third solo album produced entirely by Pharrell Williams, which is scheduled to arrive on Oct. 2. The project’s second single, “Backwards,” featuring T.I., drops Friday (Sept. 11). Quavo has also confirmed that a music video for the track has already been completed.
