Back in February, Young Thug was pulled over for allegedly speeding and ended up being told his license had been suspended.
The rapper has faced plenty of legal issues over the years. In October 2024, he was released from prison after spending about two and a half years behind bars. Just before his release, he agreed to a plea deal and was ultimately sentenced to time served along with 15 years of probation.
During the February traffic stop, things nearly took a turn for the worse. According to police bodycam footage shared by The Neighborhood Talk, the officer informed him that his license was suspended due to unresolved financial obligations—and that he could have been arrested on the spot.
Luckily, it didn’t go that far, and the situation ended without him being taken in. Fans were quick to react, with many pointing out how serious the situation could have been. “He’s lucky he didn’t arrest him, he is on real strict probation,” one person wrote. Another added, “The luck this man has.”
News of Young Thug’s close call comes just days after he hit the stage at Coachella and previewed a snippet of unreleased music.
The clip has sparked mixed reactions online. While some fans are excited and think his next project could be a standout, others aren’t fully convinced. Among them is DJ Akademiks, who shared his unfiltered opinion during a recent livestream. He made it clear he still respects the Atlanta rapper but isn’t impressed with what he’s heard so far.
“We love you. I think you’re one of the greatest artists that has ever come out of Atlanta. This is not based on hate, but right now, n**a, you must be Stevie Wonder because you can’t hit a motherfcking thing. You seem blind. That ain’t it,” he said. “He dropped a snippet. This sh*t was garbage. I know Charleston White can’t see in one eye. Young Thug can’t hear in one ear.”
